He is the person signaling the other conspirators to attack Caesar. Immediately before Caesar's assassination, Metellus proposes a request to Caesar to allow his brother to return to Rome from his exile. Tillius Cimber appears in Shakespeare's famous play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, as Metellus Cimber.
